Sharif Mamoun is a former member of the Carolina Crown from 2007-2009. In 2009, he was awarded Percussion Member of the Year and was the drum line section leader and center snare. Additional drum corps experience includes marching with the Jersey Surf in 2005. His mentors and teachers include Thom Hannum, Colin McNutt, Lee Beddis, Zach Schlicher, Ian Hale, Eric Kraft, and Rudy Garcia.

Sharif attends the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he was a member of the UMass drum line from 2005-2008 and is enrolled as a music education major. He has studied under Eduardo Leandro and Ayano Kataoka and was a member of the MASS Marimba Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Advanced Percussion Ensemble.

Sharif is currently student teaching in western Massachusetts and finishing up his degree in Music Education.
