2010 marks Dann's third year as the Scouts corps director and his 22nd consecutive year in the drum and bugle corps activity. He marched 3 years with the Madison Junior Scouts prior to 6 years with the Madison Scouts.

Since aging out in 1997, Dann has been an instructor for the Scouts and Southwind as well as numerous marching bands, winter guards and winter drum lines throughout the United States and Great Britain.

A world traveler, Dann has visited 37 countries in five continents. He earned a bachelor's degree in French from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon.

Serving as corps director is his full time occupation. In 2007 he moved back to his hometown of Madison Wisconsin where he lives with his wife Mindy.
